This mechanically recycled cotton is made from post-consumer materials such as cotton clothing. Using recycled cotton saves resources and diverts cotton from landfills, or other low-value waste material streams. There are significant gains in terms of energy, water and chemicals of recycled cotton as compared to virgin cotton. The textile waste is sorted by colour to reduce the need to re-dye.
